Originally from India, I was born and raised in Dubai, and moved to the Netherlands to pursue my master’s degree. My multicultural background has given me a unique perspective on the shared struggles we experience, particularly regarding the intersectionality of our identities. Having to navigate the world as a brown woman has given me an understanding and insights to understanding how our experiences vary based on our identities, and of how racial and gender identities play a role in our own experiences and shaping the people we are.
During my experience at Webster University, Leiden, I had the opportunity to work with clients from all walks of life, including various cultural backgrounds and sexual identities. I have experience working with POC and LGBTQ+ clients, and those who experience loneliness, anxiety, depression, sexual trauma, navigating intersectionality between sexual and ethnic identities, relationship issues, stress, challenging family dynamics and issues, and moving away from home. My passion lies in helping my clients in navigating complex identities, and in processing difficult and traumatic experiences.
My therapeutic approach is integrative and client-centered. My aim is to provide a safe and non-judgmental space for my clients. The focus in therapy is on you as the client. I utilizes a blend of CBT and DBT techniques, mindfulness, schema therapy, ACT, as well as humanistic and existential therapy. My goal is to guide my clients towards healing and helping them navigate life’s experiences.
